The SIG SAUER Academy sponsored a special series on NRATV titled “Empower the People.” This 6-part series featured Kimberly Corban’s quest to complete comprehensive training at the SIG SAUER Academy. Kimberly’s journey proves just how relevant and effective advanced training can be for the average gun owner.

Kimberly’s life was irrevocably changed when a stranger broke into her college-area apartment, held her captive for two hours, and sexually assaulted her. She immediately reported the crime to the authorities and served as the key witness in her attacker’s trial, successfully garnering a sexual assault conviction.

“I figured I was going to come here and I was going to be taught to put a lot of bullets down the range,” said Kimberly following her training at the Academy. “I thought that I was going to figure out how to shoot at a target. That’s not it at all. It’s the stance, it’s being aware of my surroundings, it’s the mental aspect of everything you go through before you get to that draw. I know that this is something that I need to purse so much more.”

Watch her week-long journey at the SIG SAUER Academy in the videos below.
