“I don’t want to be this girl”

The hopelessness that I felt realizing what I was now crushed me—a victim of sexual assault. I collapsed in to my mommy’s arms crying on the tile floor of the police station.

I never wanted to be that girl. No one does.

But I had embrace that girl to transform into the woman I am today.

I became the survivor that victim needed.
